Abstract

The "Protegendo Kids" (Protecting Kids) university extension project, developed by the Federal Institute of Paraná (IFPR), aims to raise awareness among parents and guardians about the risks and challenges of digital security for children and adolescents. Developed through the analysis of scientific articles and real-life cases, the project uses lectures and workshops with a dialogical approach to address topics such as cognitive and emotional vulnerability, cybercrimes, and digital manipulation. It is expected that this initiative will strengthen family supervision practices, encourage dialogue, and promote a more critical posture toward online content consumption, thereby contributing to the formation of a digital citizenship culture where child protection is understood as a shared responsibility among family, school, and society.
