Resumo

Due to edge effects, real capacitors have capacitances that do not match the capacitance of ideal capacitors. In engineering projects that require accurate capacitance values, the use of the ideal formula is not recommended. Mathematical modeling and numerical methods applied in computers allow the simulation of several systems. In this work, perturbation theory is used as a mathematical tool, and the finite element method as a numerical method, to propose an equation capable of calculating the capacitance value of non-ideal capacitors.
